Dennis D. King is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law.  He has been a partner in the Smith, King and Simmons law firm since 1973 and the Sheridan County Attorney or Deputy County Attorney since joining the firm.  Dennis is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association, the Nebraska County Attorney's Association and is a Fellow in the Nebraska Bar Association Foundation. He has appeared in state and federal courts regularly, both as lead counsel in criminal and civil cases and as an appellate attorney.  He is the managing attorney for Smith, King and Simmons with offices in Gordon, Rushville and Hay Springs, Nebraska.  He is a Trustee for the Chadron State College Foundation and has been a member of the Board of Directors for the CSC Foundation. He served on the Gordon School Board for 12 years and is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gordon and the Gordon Chamber of Commerce.
